In the week of the Star Awards ceremony at the Beach Ballroom it seems as good a time as any to put on record my appreciation of some of the Council’s most recent award winners.

Congratulations Sean Cremer from the Council’s Finance team who was this year’s top-scoring local government student in the Cipfa (Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy) final examinations and as result was presented with the Archie Gillespie Memorial Award by the Cipfa President at the recent graduation ceremony.

Congratulations too to Hayley Anderson from the Council’s Estates team who has recently qualified as a chartered surveyor and is now a member of RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors).

Well done to Stephen Bly and Derek McKay from the Council’s Environmental Services team who respectively won Silver and Bronze Awards in the Parks, Grounds and Streetscene category at the recent APSE (Association for Public Service Excellence) Scotland Rising Star Awards.

Finally (for now)

Well done too to the City Wardens at Archibald Simpson House on achieving their WorldHost awards.  I was delighted to meet Carolyn Bruce and Harry Farquhar recently to present their certificates and plaque:
